E PORTE DI A PUESIA - Alanu Di Meglio

A carezza di l'acqua

A carezza di l'acqua
arrimbata à i monti
scrivi a to custera
d'un’impussibili parafrasa

La caresse de l'eau

La caresse de l'eau
adossée aux montagnes
grave sur ta côte
une impossible paraphrase

(Trad FH.Durazzo)

The caress of water

The caress of water
leaning on the mountains
writes on your shore
An impossible paraphrase.

(trad F.Beretti)

Attrachju di silenziu

Attrachju di silenziu
Bunaccia morta
Russu sirenu
Torrulu di paci
chì si poni in pichjuli
nant'à l'oliu marinu
senza frighja
Manca una vela sulca
l'aria piumbina

Si sticchisci u ricordu
in a durghjulera di u tempu

Silence du crépuscule

Silence du crépuscule
Calme absolu
Sérénité du rouge
Paix rousse de l'œuf
qui se dépose en petites taches
sur l'huile marine
sans frire
Pas une seule voix ne fend
la grisaille de l'air

Tension du souvenir
dans la dissolution du temps

(trad. FM.Durazzo)

Silent sunset

Silent sunset
complete lull
serene red
the peaceful yolk of an egg
Laid in small specks
on the oily sea
without frying.
Not a single sail
ploughs the leaden air.

Memory is tense
in the dissolution of time.

(trad. F.Beretti)

A serva

Eiu paisanu fieru
Ghjurnatantu è disgraziatu
Vogliu cantà l'addisperu
Di lu mio amore scunciatu
Anghjula pura è fantina
Di u veranu più bellu fiore
Si n'andò quella matina
À fà serva à li signori.

Anghjula Anghjula mea
A ruvina mi purtasti
Stu ghjornu duv'è n'andasti
In li sgiò
È ne francasti lu purtò

L'estate l'aria infiarava
Eri stanca à la funtana
A to ciretta pisava
Sott'à quella sciappittana
Eiu rozu travagliadore
Ùn truvai mai la stonda
Ellu giovanu signore
Bellu ti girava in tondu

Anghjula Anghjula mea
Fù cusì nun ricusasti
A to giuventù li dasti
À stu sgiò
Chì in la so casa t'ingannò

Trà a cardellina è u corbu
Matrimonii ùn ne pò nasce
Puru un criaturu in corpu
U sgiò ingratu ti tralascia
Stu ghjornu era festa in piazza
Misurasti a to sciagura
Spusava una di razza
Ricca di ceppu sicuru

Anghjula Anghjula mea
Issa pistola ch'è tù purtasti
A ti cacciai, ùn la mi dasti
È u sgiò
Fù la mio manu chì u tumbò

La servante

Moi paysan fier
Journalier malheureux
Je veux chanter le désespoir
De mon amour avorté
Anghjula pure et jeune
Fleur la plus belle du printemps
Elle partit ce matin-là
Faire la servante chez les riches

Anghjula, mon Anghjula
Tu fus cause de ma ruine
Ce jour où tu partis
Chez les notables
Et que leur seuil tu franchis.

L’été incendiait l’air
Fatiguée tu étais à la fontaine
ta cruche se faisait lourde
sous cette canicule
moi rustre travailleur
je ne trouvai jamais l'instant
lui jeune monsieur
il te tournait si bien autour.

Anghjula mon Anghjula

tu mesuras toute ton infortune
Il en épousait une de sa caste
riche et de belle naissance

Anghjula mon Anghjula
ce pistolet que tu avais sur toi
je te l'ai arraché, tu ne me l'as pas donné
et le notable
ce fut ma main qui le tua.

(trad. PM Filippi)

The servant

I a proud peasant
a miserable labourer
I want to sing the despair
of my aborted love
Anghjula pure and young
the most beautiful spring flower
went to be a servant to rich people.

Anghjula my Angel
you brought ruin to me
the day when you went
to the rich
and crossed the threshold.

The summer was ablaze with heat
you were tired at the fountain
your jug was heavy under the scorching heat.
I, a poor labourer
never found a moment
He, a young gentleman
was eagerly seeking your favours.

Anghjula my Angel
so you yielded
you gave your youth
to the rich gentleman
who abused you in his home

There cannot be no marriage
between a warbler and a crow.
Even when you were expecting a baby
the ungrateful gentleman left you.
There was a celebration on the village square
you realised your ill-fate
he was wedding a rich girl of ancient lineage.

Anghjula, my Angel
I snatched the pistol you were carrying
you didn’t give it to me
and the gentleman
was killed by my hand.

(trad. F.Beretti)

Isuli

Sintili
in u sussuru di a sciuma...
tutti i partenzi
scritti da i timoni

Iles

Ecoutez-les
dans le bruissement de l'écume...
tous ces départs
écrits par les timons

(trad. FM.Durazzo)

Islands

Listen to them
in the swish of the foam
all those departures
traced by the rudder.

(trad. F.Beretti)

Testi mori

Ghjuntu ch'e sò,
stò accantu,
vicinu
ma accantu.
Issa tralucenza
chì si spicca,
a possu paspà.
I me mani incaddosi
ùn lasciani stampi.

Fermu accantu,
vicinu
ma accantu,
sempri.
In a ghjustra
di l'omini di quì
mai ci entru.

Têtes maures

Depuis que je suis ici,
je me tiens à côté,
près,
mais à côté.
Cette transparence
qui nous isole,
m'est palpable.
Mes mains caillées
ne laissent pas d'empreintes.

Je reste à côté,
près,
mais à côté,
toujours.
Jamais
je n'entre
dans la lutte
des hommes d'ici.

(trad. FM.Durazzo)

The Moor’s Head

Ever since I’ve been here
I stand aside
nearby
but aside.
I can feel that transparency
which puts us apart
My callused hands
leave no mark.

I stand aside
nearby
but aside
always.
I never
enter the ring
of men living here.

(trad. F.Beretti)
