Not far from Pruprià, this tiny marine seems to be cut from the rest of the world. It looks like a peaceful place that worths a visit on its own. A little bay offers a wonderful beach with a view of the tower in a sea which is pleasantly turquoise blue.
This is a family walk. Everything is set up for it, and there are signs which show walkers some details about the path and also some historic facts about the place.
Then we discover that before the chestnut trees were there, we used the genevrier trees to do carpentery. It is also explained how they were producing carbons with wood domes, which contained a well in the middle of them.
The path goes up and down in the maquis and we let ourselves being taken from one sign to the other, until the wonderful wooden door in the middle of the tower. This tower is surrounded by a fortified enclosure. This tower has an other particularity : It is the largest tower built in Corsica and ….Indeed, it barely fits in the photograph !
Unfortunately, taking care of this landscape is not free, so you will need to wait for the touristy season to visit the tower, and of course the visit will have a cost.
However, the walk keeps going on the island and goes round the littoral. Over there and like every where on this coastal part, the rocks are being built by the wind and the sea …
